Over the past year, the 2021 JCI World Congress Organizing Committee has worked diligently to provide a one-of-a-kind experience for all of JCI to enjoy. Recently, with ongoing global challenges around travel, an important decision has been made regarding how JCI members worldwide will be able to participate in the biggest event of the year.

On August 12, the JCI Executive Committee made a decision, based on the recommendation of JCI South African Board of Directors, to make the 2021 JCI World Congress into a fully virtual event. As a result of the uncertainties brought on by COVID-19 and the regularly changing local and international travel regulations, this decision was made to ensure the event’s stability, given the current, unpredictable global situation whilst preserving the health and safety of our members around the world. In the spirit of perseverance and dedication, JCI South Africa knew that a full cancelation was out of the question thus resulting in this new, dynamic direction. 

Some important information to note: 

• The dates of the Online 2021 JCI World Congress will be from Tuesday 16 to Saturday 20 November
• An updated registrations page will be opened soon! Check our Facebook and the JCI Virtual Community for updates
• The event will feature main JCI programs like Creative Young Entrepreneur, Debating, Public Speaking and Awards, as well as additional workshops and skills development opportunities – there will also be a strong South African feel to the event to honour the hosts.  

In regards to the refund policy, the JCI South African Conference Organizing Committee will contact the World Congress registrants individually soon to offer a full refund to anyone registered for the physical event. 

JCI pioneered the digital space last year with our organization’s first-ever virtual World Congress, providing days worth of engaging and beneficial content. This year, the South African Congress Organizing Committee and World Headquarters will build on that success, bringing true value to members worldwide. 

This year’s congress will be an event that leaders and entrepreneurs from every part of the JCI family will want to attend, so make sure to keep on the lookout for registration to officially open!
